Starting a newsletter

Well, I nerved myself to click "Publish", so I guess it's actually happening. Like approximately half the world, I'm starting a Substack newsletter. It's about conventions so it should lower my tendency to post about goings-on in the convention world here.

I've actually been thinking about this since the end of last year (as you can see from the former placeholder post that I haven't worked out how to delete) but wanted to wait until in-person conventions were mostly back.

This is partially a successor to Picofarad, in that it's inherited the ginormous convention listings taking up half or more of the publication.

As someone who makes a habit of sending out mail to conventions (I recently made up a batch of audio mini-CDs to promote that other thing I do), I appreciate the convention listings. But now I have to interrogate myself as to whether I want to subscribe to a newsletter.
