Duck season

On this morning's walk, I had to detour around a pair of mallards that were waddling across the sidewalk to get a drink from the gutter. I wouldn't count this as a special pandemic wildlife sighting brought on by reduced human activity; mallards turn up trying to nest in places with lots of human activity around here every year. They're just not very bright.

There's a slumped place in the pavement in front of the house next door, where rain-water tends to accumulate. It's frequent to see mallards paddling in it. Generally not the bigger muscovy ducks that frequent the nearby creek, though.
