R.I.P. Terry Jones

Saddened to hear of the passing of Terry Jones. The LA Times obituary covers the usual bases, but also mentions he's credited with the script for Labyrinth.

I had no idea! Then again, some poking around the intertubes led me to this interview where Jones explains that the final movie had significant differences from what he wrote, and so he didn't feel much of a connection with it. Ah well.

The interview also mentions in passing that Jim Henson's other top choice for Jareth was Michael Jackson.

Yes I read about his passing... and had heard about the Labyrinth connection. I think he basically did the original draft/outline and then they took it and did re-writes that changed quite a bit.

Michael Jackson would have been a horrible choice for Jareth in so many ways.

Terry has been ill for so long, its for the best I fear that he has passed. I suspect like my father the real Terry has been gone a few years.
