E-reader recommendations needed

Like everything else these days, the Endeavour Award is attempting to become as virtual as possible, which means switching to electronic reading copies. Anyone want to recommend me an e-reading app for Windows?

I use a kindle as it has cross platform capability for reading, but dealing with Amazon isn't for everyone. Its what I got a cheap pad for (a Kindle fire for me was about $100 by taking a few months of Prime back when 'Good Omens' was first released free on Prime, which I wanted to watch).

Since there are Kindle Apps for PC, Google OS, Mac etc it has worked best for me for many years.

If you are comfortable with Python & have or can install "windows-curses", apparently you can use this command-line e-reader.
Not that I'm sure why you'd want that, but apparently someone did.
