Back when we lived in an apartment, I would get up bright and early every Saturday morning to get our laundry done when there was no competition for the washing machines. After moving into a house, laundry day moved to Sunday and the SO took over most of it.

Due to the timing of our trip south a few weeks ago, I washed my clothes on two successive Wednesdays. And then I got to thinking, why not just keep doing that? I'm home on Wednesdays now, and it would make the logistics of going out places on Sundays simpler (whenever I can get back to my normal level of going places on weekends, anyway).

So I've been doing that since and it works fine. But it feels weird, like I'm violating some fundamental principle of the universe. I'm permanently working from home for as long as I stay in this job, and will be looking hard for ways to stay at least mostly remote in any future jobs, so I could keep doing this for a while. After over a year of this there are still things that feel new and strange.
