Friday morning there was no crowd of families dropping off kids at the local elementary school when I walked by, the parking lot was empty, and it looks like some kind of maintenance was in progress, so I presume the school year has ended there.

Kids have gotten to spend their first few precious days of summer getting rained on. It's drier today, with an outside chance of hitting 70F for the first time in several days. Real summer may arrive tomorrow.

While most of the rest of the country bakes, we've been getting mild flooding. The rivers are usually high at this time of year, but usually it's from snowmelt rather than rain. "Juneuary" is the new word in vogue around here.
