International Bat Appreciation Day: Have you ever seen a bat in the flesh? Real bat or Batman, which is better?

Yes, the local zoo has some on display. I've never seen one in the wild, though.

As for Batman, it depends which one, right? If asked to name my favorite DC superhero these days, I'm likely to say LEGO Batman.

I've seen bats in the wild, but not for a long time as I've long since moved away from places where they thrive. Also, one place I was staying for a few nights had a bat get into the house, which caused great excitement as we had to work to shoo it out of the house.

Also, I saw fruit bats in Australia both in the wild and in a bat rescue sanctuary. Those are much different than the tiny ones in North America.
