The last week and a half have featured two major appliances suddenly breaking, replacements being delivered which means servicepeople having to come into the house, a sudden temporary change of diet because one of those appliances was the fridge, high-stakes things happening at work, vaccinations, and odd symptoms occasioning a game of "rare vaccine side effect, prescription medication side effect, or just monthly hormonal fluctuations?". It has been hectic and stressful.

But there were vaccinations, I'll give it that. The SO and I had what feels like the ultimate medical mass-market experience, going to a Wal-Mart supercenter half an hour away for the J&J vaccine. I'm pretty sure I've never actually been inside a Wal-Mart supercenter before. I've been describing Fred Meyer as our locally grown equivalent to Wal-Mart for a long time, and sure enough, it looks almost exactly like a Fred Meyer in there. I guess I wasn't missing much.

Now things have maybe finally calmed down for a bit. The sun is shining, the trees are putting out leaves, the local park is speckled with daisies. The weather may change from unseasonably cold to unseasonably warm later this week. One can believe that things are genuinely getting better.

It's good that you were able to get replacement appliances. I've been hearing that builders are waiting months for them, which is slowing down occupancy of new or renovated housing units.
