Wildlife sighting

Yesterday, as I was walking past the local park on my morning "commute", I saw some fresh mounds of dirt from recent gopher activity. And then I realized there was a furry, whiskered face looking at me from the center of one pile, before it pulled back into its burrow.

I've been around parks that had signs of gophers in them on and off every since I was a little kid, but I don't think I've ever seen a real live gopher before.
