Day out, take 2

After waiting until after 10 to leave the house, a visit to the farmers' market and then over to the big food cart pod does get me to the pod when some of the carts are actually open. Then again, it means being at the farmers' market when it's crowded and stalls are running out of things and there are lines for the first strawberries of the season. So the pod is going to have to wait until I'm doing other outings, I guess.
But I did get to have some of the best fish and chips in the Portland area for the first time in well over a year, and stopped by the German bakery stall at the farmers' market just in time to get one of my favorites-- a pastry with veins of Nutella (which they call a Nutella croissant, even though it looks nothing like a croissant). I still have a hankering for their pretzel croissants (which are actual croissants) though, maybe next week when I go at my usual early time. Also, probably can actually get strawberries next week!
