About a month ago, Steve Davidson, the publisher/editor of Amazing Stories, had a heart attack followed by triple bypass surgery.

After the news was first posted by Kermit Woodall, the webmaster, I tried reaching out to him (Kermit) about the latest anime post that hadn't gone live, and he confirmed he was the right person to talk to about making posts go live in the interim. So he did that one and the one after, and then Steve was reportedly back in action, and none of them have been posted since.

Instructions may have been sent out to active writers for the blog about how things are going to work in the near future, but I haven't gotten them. I've been suspecting for a while that I've fallen off the list for periodic updates as I haven't gotten one in a long time. Reading the post I linked to above, this seems like not a good time to bug Steve about my anime posts every week. I sent one get-well-soon message when the news first broke, and figured I'd hear back when he had the bandwidth to deal with the blog, which I haven't yet.

But, he's actively posting again, and some other stuff is getting posted, so I'm back to thinking I've missed out on instructions somewhere along the way. Plus the anime posts had stopped going live on schedule even before the heart attack.

So this is why I haven't linked to posts the last couple weeks; they haven't been published. I'm continuing to submit them for now. If I still haven't heard from Steve by the end of the month and regular publishing activity hasn't resumed, then I think that's where I stop submitting them and wait for further news.

It's a crummy way to end the run, with spoons running out and communications breaking down, but it's not that uncommon a way for fanwriting gigs to end.
