petrea_mitchellOn Thursday, Portland tied its record for the second-latest first 80F reading of the year. Here in the next valley over, we only got to 77F that day. After that, temperatures lapsed back into the 60s. We are about three weeks from the anniversary of last year's heat dome that got Portland to 116F and expecting to spend most of that time hovering right around 70F.
On the plus side, while most of the state remains in the same extreme drought as California, northwestern Oregon has gotten so much snow and rain that we are officially out of the drought for now.
