Turkey day

petrea_mitchellI came to the realization recently that I don't want to cook a turkey ever again. I like turkey, it's just that wrestling with an actual bird carcass feels like an unnecessary relic of the past. It's a mess to set up and dispose of, and an excessive amount of work for a 2-person dinner.
So instead we're just having some boneless turkey from a local restaurant, from which we've also gotten cinnamon apples and cranberry sauce. The SO has picked out a couple of flavors of Martinelli's sparkling fruit drinks (no one in the house is interested in alcohol). A pumpkin pie is in the oven right now, and later I'll be heating the turkey, baking a couple potatoes, and making extremely basic succotash.
I'm thankful today for all the little online refuges I've found-- Discord, gaming, and here-- and for all of you.
