Serpent Day: How do you feel about snakes? Would you ever keep a snake as a pet?

I prefer cats as pets. I am very pleasantly disposed toward some kinds of snakes, though. I encountered large constrictors in a variety of educational situations as a little kid-- and by "encountered" I mean in the sense of being encouraged to reach out and touch them-- and as a result I don't find them scary at all.
