Jan. 6th, 2023 12:51 pmTake Down the Christmas Tree Day: If you celebrate Christmas, when do you put up your tree and when do you take it down?
The SO was raised in a family that got the tree moments after Thanksgiving, and I was raised in one that tended to get it at the last minute, so most years we've compromised at a couple weeks before Christmas.
The tree gets taken down by the first Saturday after Christmas, when we haul it over to one of the local schools for recycling. The recycling operation is run jointly by the local Scout troops now that they have resolved the turf wars that plagued the neighborhood for much of the '10s.
No really, there were Christmas tree recycling turf wars. IIRC one year we had fliers left on the doorstep from four different organizations inviting us to drop off the tree with them and contribute to their fundraisers.
