Oregon was the first state in the US to switch to all-absentee voting (all the way back in the 1990s) and the first to implement opt-out voter registration. I've been saying for a while that the one big thing we still need is ranked-choice voting.
Well, part of a flurry of bills at the end of this year's state legislative session was one giving us a chance at it. All changes to the state constitution have to be ratified by a vote of the general populace, so it'll be on the November ballot, and then the actual switch won't happen until 2028 if it passes, but better then than even later.
