World Letter Writing Day: Do you still write actual letters to anyone (email doesn't count!)? Did you have penpals when you were young(er)? Do you miss receiving actual letters in the mail (or any mail other than junk/flyers)?

No, no, and... I can't really miss them when I never got them much to begin with.

I think it was fourth grade where there was an attempt to set my whole class up with pen pals. The teacher had a friend teaching in Senegal and thought it would be fun for all of us to write to her friend's students. I remember writing something but I don't think we ever heard back.

I outlived the few pen pals and correspondents of my youth, sometime back in the 1980s. But then I seem to be outliving a lot of the folks I've known in life, both face to face and in electronic correspondence.
