The restrictions were tightened a bit this week. Most retail stores can still stay open as long as they designate someone to be in charge of social distancing, but malls and various businesses which require interpersonal contact (hair salons etc.) were shut, as were the state parks.
I don't know if every governor does this, but ours wanted everyone to know exactly which idiots to blame:
No word yet on whether people have decided to throng the beaches again this weekend.
Friday I developed a hankering for something from Shari's, a regional chain which is best known for its pies. One of their current seasonal specials is a thing they're calling the Marionberry Cheese Pie which looks like an unholy but delicious cross between pie and cheesecake. So we put together an online order for dinner and swung by to pick it up, only to learn that our local Shari's is out of the cheese pie. (Which hopefully means they're still getting a decent amount of business.) Given the chance to pick something else, I went for the other seasonal special off the top of my head, key lime pie. This they still had, though I expect it to sell out soon, because it was pretty damn amazing even for Shari's.
The weather has turned damp and gloomy, but at least it's not hitting freezing overnight anymore. I've stayed in this weekend, finishing up the anime preview, trying to get back up to speed on Endeavour reading, and playing a lot of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Additionally, some Oregonians are not adhering to social distancing guidance provided by the Oregon Health Authority, as represented by crowds this last weekend at the Oregon Coast, Smith Rock State Park, the Columbia River Gorge, and other places around the state. To slow the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon, to protect the health and lives of Oregonians, particularly those at highest risk, and to help avoid overwhelming regional health care capacity, I find that immediate implementation of additional measures is necessary.
