2 tsp oil
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 lbs chicken, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp powdered ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 1/2 cups no-salt-added chicken broth
14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup raisins
Tried a few weeks ago, back in a different era.
I thought I'd maybe made this several years ago, but on second thought I think it was mulligatawny soup I was thinking of. Anyway, I think it was the cinnamon and raisins that grabbed my attention on this one. The result was rather disappointing on that score; it's got a cinnamony smell but the actual taste is mostly tomatoes and curry powder.
