Interregnum, week 2

This is the week where hairstylists suddenly became sought-after political commentators. Also the week where the US hit a quarter million officially diagnosed covid-19 deaths.

It is chilly and damp and foggy almost all the time. Most of the trees are done losing their leaves, except for one I see on my walks which is shedding them in a highly organized fashion from top to bottom and is only about halfway through.

Figuring that the supermarkets are going to be extra busy the next few days, we made an extra shopping trip today to make sure we were supplied until after Thanksgiving. The store we picked was missing a couple things I'd been hoping to grab for Thanksgiving dinner, but we're here and we're well and that will be enough to be thankful for.

I tried to do that with our own shopping planning, to avoid going near a store before Saturday (and even that should mostly just be extreme perishables).
